Google is taking the lead with Be Internet Awesome, a global education program that teaches kids the basics of digital citizenship and safety so they can explore the online world with confidence.
We’re excited to help spread awareness through video and social media support that profiles the events, exhibits and enthusiasm driving this acclaimed online safety and digital citizenship program.
This past February on Safer Internet Day, Google hosted a 3 day interactive exhibit in San Antonio, TX called the Be Internet Awesome adventure. The bilingual exhibit was designed with hands on activities for kids, teachers, and parents to learn the five fundamental lessons of Be Internet Awesome:
• Be Internet Smart – Share with Care (Online Reputation & Communication)
• Be Internet Alert – Don’t Fall for Fake (Phishing & Scams)
• Be Internet Strong – Secure Your Secrets (Privacy & Security)
• Be Internet Kind – It’s Cool to Be Kind (Online Harassment)
• Be Internet Brave – When in Doubt, Talk It Out (Inappropriate & Questionable Content)
The Internet Awesomeness continued with Google’s sponsorship of two of the nation’s largest parent influencer Conferences, Dad 2.0 and Mom 2.0, where parents learned how to Be Internet Awesome through a carnival-themed activation and a remarkable interactive maze.

Be Internet Awesome continues to grow, most recently launching a new set of lessons focusing on media literacy. The curriculum is designed to teach kids how to evaluate what they see online and how to spot credible from non-credible media sources.
