Loma Campaign Helps SDPD Achieve Largest Academy Class in 25 Years

Graduation Day is always special, but an entire city will celebrate this one.

The San Diego Police Department welcomed its largest Academy class in a quarter century with 58 recruits successfully joining the Department.

It’s a key payoff of the City’s significant investments in recruitment and retention amplified by a hyper-targeted Loma recruiting campaign that has shown results from Day One.

Reflecting San Diego’s reputation as one of the world’s most innovative cities, our mobile first campaign targets age-appropriate candidates (ages 21-35) who welcome challenge, display strong self-motivation and share a passion for protecting and improving the diverse, dynamic San Diego community.

By ‘funneling’ traditional media into digital platforms, we engage with our core audience in the ways they want to be reached, measure cross-platform impact through powerful analytics and quickly adjust outreach for optimum effectiveness.

“The City has made rebuilding SDPD for the future a top priority,” said Mayor Kevin L. Faulconer. “We’ve made salaries more competitive and launched an aggressive marketing campaign, and it’s paying off with bigger and bigger academies as we try to ensure San Diego remains one of the safest big cities in the country.”
