Unleashing Rizzly the Grizzly

California’s top community college has a fun mascot for a new era.

Educating a very diverse campus population, Mt. San Antonio College prides itself on fostering an inclusive environment that propels and celebrates success in every pursuit. LOMA was chosen to research, design and deliver a new mascot that would “capture the College’s unique character, represent the College’s values and engage the College’s dynamic community.”

Soliciting extensive feedback from students, faculty and the extended campus community, we developed and socialized three ‘finalist’ designs before unveiling the consensus choice:

Introducing Rizzly the Grizzly!

A campus-wide launch event introduced the fresh face (and claws) of Mt. SAC, much to the delight of a fired-up student body. Just days later, Rizzly the Grizzly was prowling the sidelines, and doing so quite effectively–Mt. SAC football is undefeated through its first 4 games of the season.

We can’t always promise perfection…but we will say we’ve helped inspire it!
